Last of the "Great Albums" from Sly and his Family! Simply another innovative approach to music. From the "deep" reaching "In Time" to the religious "Thankful N' Thoughtful". I use to sit in my parents basement and listen to this album over and over. I just identified and I think todays generation would also.

Fresh holds its own, considering RIOT is unquestionably one of the best albums of alltime. The first impression I get is that Sly is now firmly in control and completely dominates the proceedings. Musically, one immediately misses Womack's contributions here, but also it seems that the rest of the band is less of a factor. However Sly is still at the peak of his game. Songs like In Time, Skin I'm In & Babies Makin' Babies are funky, understated, dancable and most excellent. Other tunes suffer mildly from repetitious hooks (Thankful n' Thoughtful, for instance), but hold the listeners interest because they are just so damn funky. Worthy of classic status. And contrary to popular opinion, Que Sera Sera does not suck!
